IPL 2018, CSK vs KKR, Match 5: Suresh Raina's Spot-On Direct-Hit Runs Out Robin Uthappa After Fumble — WATCH

IPL 2018, CSK vs KKR: Chennai Super Kings' Suresh Raina stunned Kolkata Knight Riders' Robin Uthappa with a direct-hit to run him out

Suresh Raina’s fielding, over the years, has been unbelievable in Indian Premier League (IPL). After taking a terrific catch to dismiss Sunil Narine early on in the innings, it was time for a runout. Robin Uthappa, who was taking on the spinners and hitting the ball out of the park, became victim to Raina’s brilliance in the 30-yard circle.

Uthappa pushed back the length of the ball from Shane Watson towards covers off the back foot. Raina dived towards his left and saved it from going past the 30-yard circle. After seeing Raina fumble, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Dinesh Karthik called Uthappa for a single. Uthappa was in two minds while taking the single and was a long way away from the crease.

Raina’s throw dislodged the bails and celebrated the wicket in a different style, facing the sky. Uthappa did not look at Karthik while going back to the pavilion after his cameo. He scored 29 runs from 16 balls, including 2 fours and 3 sixes.

Uthappa and Rana got out in a matter of just one run. Rinku Singh followed them and got out as KKR lost 5 wickets for 89. However, West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell led a lone battle, scoring 88 runs off 36 balls including just one four and 11 towering sixes to take KKR’s score to 202 in the first innings.

However, Raina was not given the ball despite being a decent part-time bowler. He didn’t bowl in the IPL 2018 opener against Mumbai Indians (MI) as well.
