IPL 2018: Murali Vijay, Stephen Fleming Become Latest Victims Of 'Cake-Facial' In CSK Dressing Room

Murali Vijay returned to his first franchise after CSK picked him up for the base price of Rs 2 crore in IPL 2018 retentions

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opener Murali Vijay and mentor Stephen Fleming received the customary cake facial on April 1. Vijay and Fleming share their birthdays on April 1. In the video, Vijay can be seen wearing a poly-bag on his head to protect his hair whereas Suresh Raina is busy lighting the candles. Fleming too was waiting for the celebrations to start.

The birthday duo then got a cake facial from their teammates. The whole team was present except skipper MS Dhoni who was not visible in the video posted by CSK. Here’s the video posted on CSK Twitter account on April 1 —

Vijay is returning to CSK after a long gap. He started his IPL career in 2009 and has even scored two centuries in the league so far. He was picked up by Delhi Daredevils (DD) and later played for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). The 25-year-old even captained KXIP in 2016 but his second season has arguably been the best so far.

The Indian opener is expected to open the innings for CSK when they play their first match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 7. He has scored 2,511 runs in 100 matches in IPL so far at an average of 26.43, with the help of 2 centuries and 13 half-centuries. He will probably open with former Australian cricketer Shane Watson or England opener Sam Billings.
