BCCI selector MSK Prasad reveals why Yuvraj Singh was not selected in Indian squad — WATCH

Yuvraj Singh missed out once again on making it into India's limited overs squad despite passing the Yo-Yo fitness Test

Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) announced the squad for three-match Test series against South Africa tour and three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka at home starting December 20. Despite the absence of Indian skipper Virat Kohli and a few other senior players in the T20I side, veteran player Yuvraj Singh still did not get a chance to be included in the side. Yuvraj revealed on the same day that he had cleared the Yo-Yo fitness Test but that did not help his claim to a berth in the Indian side.

Here’s what Prasad said after the press conference where the squad for South Africa tour and T20I against Sri Lanka was announced,

Yuvraj Singh has fitness issues. He has not played a lot of competitive cricket lately.

On the same day, Yuvraj revealed his future plans in a press conference which featured 5 captains of South Asian Under-19 teams including Prithvi Shaw.

I would like to tell that I am failing. I still fail. I failed the last three fitness tests but yesterday I passed my fitness test. After 17 years I am still failing. I am not afraid of failure. I have gone through ups and downs. I have seen defeat and that’s what’s the pillar of success.

Yuvraj also revealed how he coped with failures.

To be a successful man, to be a successful person in your life, you need failure and you’ve got to be defeated. That will make you a stronger person and it will take you to the next level.

Yuvraj is also optimistic ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019.

I am still playing. I don’t know what format I am going to play. But I am pushing every day as hard as I used to, may be harder than before because I am getting older. And I see myself playing cricket till 2019 and obviously take a call after that.
