Sonali Bendre has recently revealed that she has been diagnosed with a form of ‘high grade cancer that has metastasised’. The actor took to Twitter to tell everyone about her condition, and that she’s currently undergoing treatment in New York for the same. She took the opportunity to express gratitude for the good wishes.

She described a ‘niggling pain’ is what forced her to get a few tests done, which eventually informed her about the shocking diagnosis.

Understandably, social media erupted after reading Bendre’s statement and support has poured in from different sections of Bollywood.

Manish Malhotra acommented on the actor’s Instagram post saying, “Wishes and strength and love with you Sonali.” While her Hum Saath Saath Hain co-actor Neelam Soni commented, “You are the strongest girl I know. My superwoman.”

Bendre has been on hibernation as an actor, and her last well-known part was in Kal Ho Naa Ho. Acting alongside Shah Rukh Khan, her character Priya was a medical practitioner.

She is best known for a bunch of films during the late 90s like Zakhm, Duplicate and Sarfarosh. She has been married to filmmaker Goldie Behl, the man responsible for films like Drona, Ali Zafar-starrer London Paris New York and John Abraham’s I, Me Aur Main.
