In a new turn in the Samajwadi Party family feud, SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav has issued a showcause notice to UP CM Akhilesh Yadav for issuing candidate list separately.
The SP Chief has also issued a showcause to his cousin Ram Gopal Yadav for issuing statements against the party line in media.
This has been the latest development in the tussle over ticket distribution between Akhilesh Yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Akhilesh Yadav revolted and released a list of 235 candidates independently on Thursday night, a day after Mulayam Singh released his list of 325 candidates. Party MLAs who did not make it to the list released by Mulayam Singh made the list available on social media.
Akhilesh supporters who did not make it to the list thronged his house leading to a meeting between the UP CM and his father to discuss their issues.
Mulayam Singh Yadav attempted a compromise when on Thursday night his brother and the Samajwadi Party’s UP chief Shivpal Yadav named 68 more candidates, including two Akhilesh loyalists. But that had no impact on Akhilesh Yadav.
