In today's WTF news, baffled BJP MLA questions Virushka's patriotism for marrying in Italy

Let's face it, Virat and Anushka's lives are not their own because they are celebrities in INDIA

Indian politicians’ frivolous statements have often made our mundane lives entertaining. In a fresh dose of mind-boggling stupidity, BJP MLA Pannalal Sakya on Tuesday questioned cricketer Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma’s decision to get married in Italy.

Sakya was perplexed at the audacity of two people in love planning to get hitched at a venue of their choice. His problem? Why did they choose to get married outside India? Clearly, the BJP leader expected Kohli and Sharma to get the blessings and the permission to get married from not just each other’s parents, but also all the politicians and the head of the state.

Let’s face it, Virat and Anushka’s lives are not their own because they are celebrities in INDIA. They should be overcome with gratitude for getting all the acclaim for the hard work both of them put into their respective careers.

Do they think they are better than everyone who got married in this paradisal country? “In this country, Ram, Krishna, Vikramaditya and Yudhishthir got married. But no one among us goes to foreign lands like him (Virat). He earned his money and fame here but is spending it there (Italy),” stated an irate Sakya.

Please, they are citizens of India and this is not acceptable behaviour from Indians. They should eat, think and even dream about staying in India. They have no right to spend their hard-earned money on fancy, dreamy, picturesque Tuscan weddings. More importantly, they missed a chance for the country to promote its tourism.

Of course, the Twitterati saw right through Sakya’s comment and took him down.

One even pointed out that the BJP leader had a problem with “destination” and not the wedding.
