These Photos Tell What It's Like To Cook In The Coldest Place On Earth

A few days back, two researchers decided to cook outside in the freezing temperatures just to see how food would react.

With temperatures hovering around -94 degrees Fahrenheit, Concordia Station in Antarctica is one of the coldest places on Earth. Not just coldest but also it is the most remote place on earth.

Though it is freezing cold there but Concordia Station is also a scientific base and, often visited by European scientists. As per Insider, a group of 13 people from France, Italy, and Austria are stationed at Concordia Station. And among them, there are two researchers – Station Leader (Concordia) Cyprien Verseux and Carmen Possnig, from France and Austria, who often share pictures food they eat.

A few days back, they decided to cook outside in the freezing temperatures just to see how food would react.

To their and everybody else’s surprise, the food got frozen. Not just food, also the spoons and forks. They have shared some pictures on Twitter and people are shocked.

They even tried to cook scrambled eggs.

Nope, not a photoshop!

“I think it is hard to imagine for people what -70 to -80 degrees Celsius feels like, and we wanted to demonstrate what it’s like,” Carmen Possnig tells Insider.
