Ask any 90’s kid what outing with family and friends meant to them back in their childhood days and you would know their answer even before they say it– MCDONALD’S!!! Back in the late 90s and early 2000s, McDonald’s restaurant was one place that served the ‘hip and upbeat’ American food with an Indian twist at a reasonably low price. One of the most popular burgers from the menu– McAloo Tikki used to cost Rs 25 till a couple of years back. The price was raised to Rs 32 later to match up to the inflation. Similar was the case with other items in the menu.
The American food giant introduced many interesting wraps and burgers, sometimes to mark the sports seasons (remember peri peri fries?). After spending decades with Delhites and satiating their hungry tummies, nearly 169 outlets in north and east Indian are about to get closed. Of these 43 stores, which are located in the national capital have already been shut down.
