When you think of cake art you think delicate roses and intricate designs. You think of beautiful wedding cakes, red velvet cakes and cute doll/car shaped cakes for kids. Well, that’s about to change drastically, folks.
Meet Katherine Dey and Christine McConnell. Katherine is a nurse from New York and Christine is a photographer. What do these ladies have in common? A rather twisted hobby. Katherine makes cakes based on things she sees in the hospital and the results are pretty freakin’ gory. Remember the creepy cockroach cake that went viral? Yep, that was Katherine’s cake! Her list of inspirations for these cake includes severed heads, dead babies/puppies and half cut human organs like brains and hearts. Pretty, right?
Christine makes surreal Gothic cakes that will make you look twice! Her list of inspirations includes aliens, monsters, vampires, and zombies.
