The look and feel of Kangana Ranaut's Rani Laxmibai and Deepika Padukone's Rani Padmavati are a study in contrast

It seems like our Bollywood actresses are tired of essaying the glammed-up roles and are now trying their hands at something royal. After Deepika Padukone’s stunning royal avatar as Rani Padmavati, Kangana Ranaut is all set to make her royal debut as Rani Laxmibai. Recently, pictures of Kangana Ranaut from the sets of her upcoming film Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi were released and she looked nothing less than stunning.

Donning a beautiful white and golden outfit with a sword in one hand, Kangana looked every bit regal in the pictures. And that beautiful but minimal royal jewellery makes her look even more beautiful.

While it is obvious that comparisons will be made between Deepika and Kangana’s looks as both the actresses are playing important royal characters, it will be wrong to pit them against each other as their characters belong to different eras with the movie’s traditional and cultural backgrounds being very different.

As far the royal jewellery is concerned, we all have grown up seeing Rani Laxmibai’s pictures showing her wearing minimal jewels and that is what Kangana is trying to depict through her look in the film.

Also, we all know that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known to make larger than life films, hence, Rani Padmavati’s character had to be this grand. And since Manikarnika’s story is very different from all these high royal tales, comparing the two characters on the basis of their royal attires and looks will be foolish.

Last, but to say the least, we are totally in love with this look of Kangana Ranaut and can’t wait to see more of her pictures.
