Wow! This Indian state features in a global list of '12 destinations to watch in 2017'

The list includes places that travelers would like to visit in 2017 in which Kerala has left behind some prominent tourism places like US and Vietnam.

Kerala, a south Indian state has grabbed the eight spot in the global list of “12 destinations to watch in 2017”. The ranking was done by Britain’s distinguished travel and tours operators association ABTA (The Association of British Travel Agents).

The list includes the places that travelers would like to visit in the year 2017.

Kerala has left behind some of the most prominent tourism destinations like US, Sardinia( an island of Italy), South Africa and Vietnam to feature at the eight spot in the list that also includes Denmark, the Azores islands( Portugal), Andalusia (Spain), Croatia, Bermuda and Chile.

The report includes various attractions of Kerala like the life of the local people, journey through the calm backwaters in the traditional houseboat, spice plantations and forests. The state’s traditional Ayurveda therapies gained a special mention in the list.

According to the reports the Tourism Minister  of the state Kadakampally Surendran expressed his happiness saying that Kerala featuring in the must visit destinations list is the matter of pride of for us.

As per the statistical reports, 1,66,792 tourists from Britain visited Kerala in 2015 which accounted for a 17.06 per cent share of the total number of arrival of foreign tourists arrivals to the state.
