O Panneerselvam affirmed that it was their duty to seek answers about Jaylalithaa's death since people had affirmed that she was recovering.

Joining a number of people who claimed that they were not allowed to meet former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa, O Panneerselvam revealed that he was not allowed to meet Amma despite visiting Jayalalithaa regularly at the hospital. Clearing air about speculations of him joining other party Panneerselvam said that he had no plans to join any other party and that he had served AIADMK loyally. He further said that he could not understand the reason of Sasikala hurrying the process of her wanting to be the Chief Minister and that it was “strange”.

Asserting that he is now forced to speak out because the party was in crisis and the people of the state were losing faith in AIADMK.

Speaking about the mystery surrounding Jayalalithaa’s death, Panneerslevam said that he could not speculate about Amma’s death and it was only the medical experts who could comment on that. However, he affirmed that it was their duty to find answers about Jayalalithaa’s death adding that her demise was a shock since people with her had assured that she was recovering. Sasikala has also alleged that Panneerselvam is joining hands with the opposition parties. “No confusion or problem in our party, we are united like a family,” Sasikala said. The development comes days after the AIADMK elected Sasikala as the Legislature party leader and announced that she will be the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
