Vinod Khanna dies, from Arun Jaitley to Smriti Irani, politicians condole his death

Vinod Khanna was a BJP leader and a sitting member of the Lok Sabha from the Gurdaspur constituency in Punjab

Veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna breathed his last at 11:20 am on April 27. He was suffering from advanced bladder carcinoma (bladder cancer). In his illustrious film career that spanned over five decades, he featured in more than 100 films including ‘Mere Apne‘, ‘Insaaf‘ and ‘Amar, Akbar, Anthony’.

He was being treated at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Girgaon, Mumbai. Few days back his picture with wife and son went viral on the social media, he was looking extremely weak in it

A hospital source said, “Doctors and family were expecting a recovery but somehow his condition escalated and he succumbed today afternoon”.

On March 31 Vinod Khanna was hospitalised due to “severe dehydration” in H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre.

Vinod Khanna was a Bharatiya Janata Party leader and a sitting member of the Lok Sabha from the Gurdaspur constituency in Punjab.

Khanna was born on October 6, 1946, in Peshawar to Kamla and Kishanchand Khanna. From 1971 to 1985, Khanna was married to Geetanjali and has two sons with her Rahul Khanna and Akshaye Khanna. He later to Kavita with whom he has two children, Sakshi and Shraddha.

Union Minister Smriti Irani who also acted with the actor in TV serial ‘Mere Apne’ took to twitter to condole his death.
