India is a diverse country where people from different religions stay together, however, in the recent past, there have been incidents of lynching and intolerance in the society which have questioned the diversity of the country. But a recent photo posted by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on social media can be touted as the most secular photo.
In the photo, Shashi Tharoor can be seen talking to a man who is clad in saffron attire, on his other side three Muslim men are sitting and there is also a board which reads Y.M.C.A (Young Men’s Christian Association). The photo has gone viral on the social media and has caught quite a lot of attention. The caption given by Shashi Tharoor reads, “Typical Kerala: I am talking to a Swami after addressing a Muslim Jamaat meeting at the YMCA!”
The photo has members of Hindu and Muslim communities sitting together in a building of a Christian organisation, therefore, sending the message of secularism and diversity. The photo has garnered a lot of appreciation on Facebook. One of the Facebook users wrote, “Our religion is humanity and religions are means to reach there”. The other user wrote, “This reminds me of Usha Chechis song ” Ente Keralam Ethra Sundaram “.
Here’s how people on social media reacted to this
Sashi talks, the swamy listens & the Muslim meditates. If this not religious harmony what is ??????

Only in Kerala it happens without pretentions. Long live religious harmony & brotherhood of the state; isolate those who want to disrupt it.

Perfect example of secularism that many parts of India need to learn about

A few days ago, Shashi Tharoor had filed a civil defamation suit against managing director of newly launched TV channel Republic TV in the Delhi High Court claiming damages and compensation of Rs 2 crore for allegedly making defamatory remarks against him while airing news relating to the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar.
