This Indian Lake Is Being Developed Into A Global Tourist Destination

Asia's largest man-made lake is spread across an area of 42 square km

Tehri Lake in Uttarakhand is being developed into a world tourist destination for water sports. It will feature adventure activities such as water skiing, flyboarding, water zorbing bandwagon boat ride etc.

A ring-road will follow the lake’s boundary which will also feature 4 bridges, including India’s longest motorable single-lane bridge. A CMO official told TOI,

“The bridge would be opened for commuting in March 2020. During his visit to Kansali village in Tehri on August 11, where 10 children had died in a road accident, CM Trivendra Singh Rawat had assured the locals that the bridge would be started by March 2020.”

Asia’s largest man-made lake spread across an area of 42 square km, Tehri Lake was created by submerging the entire town of Old Tehri as the catchment area of Tehri dam.
