A recent survey proved what we have suspected for the longest time. If you want the moolah, Bengaluru is the place to be. LinkedIn, the business and employment-oriented site, rated Indian cities in terms of average total compensation per year.
Bengaluru topped the list with an annual average compensation of Rs 11,67,337, which means an average resident of Bengalurean earns roughly a lakh per month. Mumbai was a distant second with Rs 9,03,929 and
Delhi-NCR was a close third with Rs 8,99,486. Whereas an average Hyderabadi earns about Rs 8,45, 574 and Chennai pales in comparison to this city with a ho-hum Rs 6,30,920.
The results also revealed that hardware, networking, software, and IT services emerged as the highest-paying industries. And the highest paying titles in the country are director of engineering, chief operating officer and executive director.
You know what that means. We will keep producing an army of engineers for at least the next two decades.
