These 38 Central Universities will be WiFi enabled by July

The WiFi enabled campus in these 38 Central universities will help provide high-quality e-content to the students

The Narendra Modi government has set the ball rolling for free wifi facility in as many as 38 central universities. Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar made the announcement on Tuesday in New Delhi while listing the good work done by Modi government in last three years.

Speaking to media, Javdekar said, “Thirty-eight central universities will have free wi-fi facilities by July.” The plan to make the universities wi-fi enabled was announced in the 2016 Union Budget, reported PTI.

Javadekar said a committee on the New Education Policy (NEP) and a decision on the National Eligibility Test (NET) will be announced soon. The WiFi enabled campus in these 38 Central universities is likely to help in providing low cost and affordable high-quality e-content to the students across the country.

While some universities already have Wi-Fi campus, the Ministry of Human Resource Development had set deadlines for the remaining institutions to provide free access to their students, reported  The Hindu.
