Telangana Police radicalising Muslim youth through a bogus ISIS site, claims Digvijaya Singh

Digvijaya Singh also questioned whether the Telangana Police should 'trap' youth to spread inflammatory messages

Known for his controversial comments, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh sparked a controversy after he claimed that Telangana Police is encouraging Muslim youth to join terror outfit ISIS. In a tweet on Monday, Singh claimed that “Telangana Police has set up a bogus ISIS site which is radicalising Muslim Youths and encouraging them to become ISIS Modules.”

He also went on to question whether the police should ‘trap’ youth to spread inflammatory messages. “The issue is whether Telangana Police should be trapping Muslim Youths in becoming ISIS modules by posting inflammatory information,” he asked on microblogging site Twitter.

The senior Congress leader also questioned if Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has authorised the police to ‘trap Muslim Youths’. “Is It Ethical ? Is it Moral ? Has KCR authorised Telangana Police to trap Muslim Youths and encourage them to join ISIS,” Digvijaya tweeted. He also suggested that if the CM has any role to play in the act, he should resign and if not, he should initiate probe into the matter.

Agitated over the allegations, Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao asked the Congress leader to withdraw his irresponsible comments immediately. “Most irresponsible & reprehensible thing coming from a former CM. Request you to withdraw these comments unconditionally or provide evidence,” KTR said.

He added that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi should intervene in the matter. “I also demand Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi to intervene in this matter and restrain Mr. Singh or else we would also think that there is an indirect support from Mr. Gandhi as well and the Congress party itself,” he said.
