Bihar’s leader of opposition and former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav has been relentless in his attack against Nitish Kumar since the Bihar chief minister switched allegiance to Bharatiya Janata Party. He has been travelling across the state explaining how the mandate of Bihar has been disrespected.
His father and RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad has announced ‘BJP Bhagao, Desh Bachao’ rally at Gandhi Maidan on August 27 where a galaxy of leaders from anti-BJP parties are expected to be present. The rally is said to be an attempt to forge unity among opposition parties at the national level to take on the BJP-led NDA in the 2019 Lok Sabha poll.
Large posters for the upcoming rally are being put up in Patna to attract maximum crowd. However, what attracted media’s attention was the posters showing Tejashwi Yadav as Baahubali . The poster shows former deputy CM as Baahubali with a picture of his elder brother Tej Pratap on top right and a note saying ” Jiya ho Lalu ke Lal (Long live Lalu’s sons). Yadav has been at he forefront of attack against Nitish Kumar and BJP. He recently demanded a CBI probe into the Rs 1,000 crore Srijan scam, in which government funds were transferred to private accounts between 2005 and 2013 when BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi was the Finance Minister.
Earlier on Monday, BSP chief Mayawati scotched media reports about her calling for a united Opposition in a poster uploaded on Twitter, saying her party does not have an account on the micro-blogging website.
According to media reports, the poster featured Mayawati along with Opposition leaders SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee (Trinamool Congress), RJD leader Lalu Prasad and his son Tejaswi Pratap, and JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav.
