Son of a Dalit school teacher, Kalpit Veerval becomes the first ever student to score 360/360 in JEE mains

"I always remained motivated, didn't take studying as a burden", said Kalpit

Son of a school teacher, Kalpit Veerval has become the first ever student to score 360/360 in the JEE mains results. By securing hundred percent in the exam he has reserved a seat in any of India’s National Institutes of Technology, Indian Institutes of Information Technology and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes.

After the announcement of the JEE mains results, Kalpit said, “Didn’t expect to get a perfect 360, very happy. I always remained motivated, didn’t take studying as a burden”.

Kalpit, a Dalit who gave the exam from SC category, topped among all the categories. Also, this is not the first time that he has topped an exam. Previously, he has topped the National Talent Search in the year 2014 and the Indian Junior Science Olympiad in 2013.

Kalpit’s father, Pushpendra Veerval who is a male nurse by profession said, “We are very proud. He would wake up at 6 am every day and after finishing his school and coaching classes by 5 pm would start studying again after a small break.”

Neither he ‘drop a year’ for the preparation nor he joined any coaching classes in Kota, a norm generally followed by most of the students who want to get into prestigious technical institutes, yet he managed to secure the highest score.

Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje also wished Kalpit, “Kalpit is the first student to score a perfect 100% in the JEE Main competition. Rajasthan is proud of you,” wrote Raje on her official twitter account.
