Rampur molestation: Azam Khan advises girls to stay indoors; cops arrest all prime accused

Recently, a video of two girls being molested by as many as 14 boys in Rampur district went viral on social media.

After a shocking incident of molestation of Uttar Pradesh went viral on the social media, all four prime accused have reportedly been arrested by the police. Two others, allegedly involved in the molestation incident have also been arrested, according to an ANI report.

A video of two girls being molested by as many as 14 boys in Rampur district surface on social media, triggering outrage in the state. While, the police has moved quickly to investigate the case, the newly-elected BJP government is being criticised for a poor law and order situation in the state.

All those involved have been identified, a PTI report said. As per the video clip, a group of boys can be seen waylaying two girls in Tanda town in Rampur district. As per Principal Secretary (Home) Arvind Kumar, an FIR has been lodged against 14 persons.

Senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi, while speaking to reporters in national capital, questioned whether this was the law and order situation that was promised by the BJP before coming to power in the state. He added that incidents of crime have increased in Uttar Pradesh since the Yogi Adityanath government came to power.

Following the incident, Azam Khan, who is known for his controversial statements came out with a advice for girls and reportedly said that girls should be kept at home to avoid such incidents. His fresh comments have drawn ire from across the nation.

“Molestation, misbehaving with the women, loot, dacoity, murder have become the order of the day. I had urged voters to keep in mind the perfect rule of the SP and the future of law and order. I had said if the BJP was given a chance, law and order will worsen,” he added.
