Amid of the growing fractions inside and outside of the Congress party after the massive defeat in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Assembly Elections 2017, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi is travelling abroad to be with his mother and Congress’s President Sonia Gandhi, who is undergoing medical treatment.
Randeep Singh Surjewala, the Party chief spokesperson said, Congress vice president shall travel today to be with Sonia Gandhi and accompany her on the return journey. He shared this by posting a series of tweets on Twitter.
Due to Sonia’s ill health, she did not campaigned in the assembly elections.

According to the reports, there was speculation that she was in the US where she had undergone treatment for an undisclosed ailment.
After the humiliating loss of the Congress in Assembly Elections 2015 some havequestioned the leadership ability of Rahul Gandhi.
