In the morning, Mulayam along with brother Shivpal Yadav met the party workers at the SP headquarters and asserted that everything withing the party is good and there is no feud. He said, “hamari party me koi vivad nahi hai (there is no dispute in our party).

Later, both the senior Yadavs left for New Delhi where Mulayam would be meeting the Election Commissioner for his claim over the party emblem, ‘Cycle’. Since the EC has set a deadline of January 9 for claiming on the party symbol, team Mulayam is likely to submit all the legal documents tomorrow.

On the other hand, the Akhilesh camp has submitted all the legal papers and affidavits with the signatures of “90 percent” of legislators and delegates, as claimed by the Akhilesh faction.

Speaking on the on going fued in the party, Amar Singh stated that number of MLAs are more important than the symbol in elections. He said, “When a government has to be formed, numbers of MLAs supporting you matters the most than the party symbol.”

Commenting on Akhilesh faction’s claim of getting “90 percent” signatures on the affidavit, Singh said, “The signatures of support are forged and hence their authenticity is doubtful.”
