Prime Minister Narendra Modi today broke security protocol to meet a four-year-old fan who attempted to reach his convoy but was stopped by the elite commandos protecting the PM.
The incident took place when the girl rushed towards PM Modi’s cavalcade when he was returning from inauguration of Diamond Manufacturing Unit of Hare Krishna Exports.
According to reports, PM Modi asked his men to bring the girl to his car and spoke to her. The girl’s father who was standing at some distance also accompanied her.
Reports said that PM Modi asked her name and what’s the time, while pointing towards her wrist watch.
The Prime Minister is on a two-day visit to Gujarat, which goes to the polls later this year. He was accorded a grand welcome in his home state on Sunday evening with a 11-km-long sari depicting his government’s schemes dotting the route of his massive roadshow.
This is Modi’s first visit to Surat after the party’s resounding victory in the recent Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
