  • The apex court has awarded four-year imprisonment to Sasikala.
  • She is ineligible to contest elections for the next 10-years.
  • Supreme Court has also imposed a fine of rupees 10 Crore on Sasikala.
  • Along with Sasikala, Ilavarasi and Sudhakaran (the other two convicts) will also have to serve remainder of their 4-year sentence and pay Rs. 10 crore each.
  • SC has also ordered Chinnamma to surrender in Bengaluru trail court with immidiate effects.
  • Before surrendering the trial court Sasikala has appointed Edapadi K.Palanisamy as the new Legislative head of the party.
  • Sasikala has already served prison term of 6 months in the jail, so she will only have to serve three and half years in prison.
