TMC workers allegedly set BJP office in Hooghly on fire

The TMC workers are protesting against the arrest of its 2 MPs by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with the Rose Valley Ponzi scam.

In a shocking incident, some TMC workers allegedly set a BJP office in the Hooghly district of West Bengal on fire on January 4.

This comes just a day after the CBI arrested TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay in connection with the Rose valley Chit Fund scam. The TMC workers allegedly attacked BJP MP Babul Supriyo’s residence in Kolkata on January 4.

Babul Supriyo took to Twitter to claims that TMC “goons” had attacked his house. He further claimed that the supporters even tried to break into his apartment.

A number of people on social media lashed out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asking her “quit” if she could not control her party workers.

The TMC workers also marched towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence a protest against the arrest of TMC MPs.

Hours after TMC MP and lawmaker Sudip Bandyopadhyay was arrested on January 2, the Bhartiya Janata Party headquarters in Kolkata was allegedly attacked by the Trinamool congress student wing workers. Earlier today, TMC supporters also staged a rail-roko protest in Cooch Behar.

Mamata Banerjee also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and blamed the central government over the arrest of the TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay. Mamata Banerjee slammed PM Modi saying that he does not understand politics and he has purposely got TMC leader arrested because she protested against demonetisation drive.
