Tamil Nadu crisis: Subramanian Swamy stands out in support of Sasikala

BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has backed Sasikala Natarajan on swearing-in as Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister.

Amid ongoing power tussle in Tamil Nadu, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has backed AIADMK General Secretary Sasikala Natarajan for the post of Chief Minister as she has the required support of the party legislators.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Swamy said, “Sasikala should be sworn-in as CM; If delayed it’ll be in violation of the Constitution. President must intervene.”

AIADMK MP Navaneethakrishnan backed Sasikala saying, “Chinamma will be Tamil Nadu’s CM undoubtedly, all AIADMK MLAs are behind her.”

The working President of DMK MK Stalin has asked Governor of Tamil Nadu, Vidyasagar Rao to take necessary action for facilitating a stable government in the state. Stalin said, “Tamil Nadu’s Govt administration has collapsed in last 8 months, Governor must immediately come to Chennai to safeguard TN’s interests.”

“Shameful to say that smiling is an objectionable thing. Now what will Sasikala say about the mess people are laughing on now,” Stalin said referring to Sasikala’s cheerful greeting of his supporters after her meet with party MLAs at her Poes Garden residence in Chennai.

“There have been times when Jayalalithaa inside assembly greeted me, smiled. Can Sasikala question this act of Jayalalithaa?”, Stalin asked.

Commenting on the state’s political crisis, Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore refrained from making any statement on the issue. ” It’s an internal matter and to be seen by their local representatives,” he said while responding to a question  at NSG International Seminar.

Meanwhile, O Panneerselvam on February 8 addressed media at his residence in Chennai and dared Sasikala Natrajan to prove majority.

Panneerselvam said , “will prove my strength in the assembly.”

“Amma remained CM for nearly 16 yrs, I happened to become Chief Minister twice, all this was the wish of Amma. I have always followed Amma’s path. She wanted me to be CM”, he asserted.
