PM Narendra Modi addresses 'parivartan rally' in Dehradun: Top 10 highlights

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed his first parivartan rally in Uttarakhand ahead of assembly elections and inaugrated Char Dham highway project.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 27 November addressed parivartan rally in Dehradun city of Uttarakhand just ahead of assembly elections. The Prime Minister also inaugrated the Char Dham highway project while asserting that the project was a tribute to those who lost their lives during Uttarakhand flash floods.

Earlier today, the Prime Minister had said that the Char Dham highway development programme will facilitate the construction of 900 km of highways connecting holy shrines of Uttarakhand.

Here are the top 10 things PM Modi said during rally:

-The Char Dham Project is not politically motivated.

-Prime Minister recalled 2014 elections saying that the venue was half empty as opposed to the current rally with people coming out in large numbers including women.

-He asserted that the politicians should clearly understand that times have changed and the public knows everything.

-The Prime Minister affirmed that the Char Dham project will bring employment opportunities and with tourism facilities being the biggest industry, the government will provide facilities to give a boost to the industry.

-PM Modi said that 5 crore poor families would be provided gas connection within a span of 3 years.

-Taking a dig at the Congress party over OROP issue, PM Modi said that the opposition who ruled the party never took the initiatives to fulfill the demands of army personnel.

-The Prime Minister said Rs 6600 crore have already been disbursed under OROP and rest will also be disbursed at the earliest.

-Lashing at the opposition parties, the Prime Minister said that he was not appointed as the Prime Minister to just light lamp and that people opposing the fight against corruption are against development.

-He assured that people with merit will be given jobs.

-Thanking the people for extending their support during demonetisationv,PM Modi said that demonetisation was a cleanliness drive. He said demonetisation was such a move that a number of issues including fake currency, terrorism, and human trafficking  were dealt with at one go.
