On 132nd Foundation day of Congress too, Rahul Gandhi attacks PM Narendra Modi

As Congress celebrated 132nd foundation day, Rahul Gandhi continued to attack PM Narendra Modi over the demonetisation issue.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on 28 December addressed the at the 132nd foundation day of Indian National Congress while Congress President Sonia Gandhi has reportedly given the function a miss.

However, the reason for her not attending the function is not known as yet. Rahul 132nd Foundation day Gandhi did not refrain from taking a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that his decision to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1000 was done for the rich and not for the betterment of the poor.

Speaking at Congress headquarters, Rahul Gandhi said, that the Congress party was not just a party but an idea. He added saying that the party meant listening to people and understanding them asserting that the party made the workers understand the meaning of freedom.

Lashing out at the Prime Minister, the Congress Vice President said that PM Modi had earlier noted on 8 November that he was conducting a ritual sacrifice against corruption adding that with every “yagna” he had sacrificed the needs of the poor.

Yesterday, the Congress party headed an anti-demonetisation meeting with other opposition parties in attendence to slam Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation drive. Rahul Gandhi slammed the note ban move by the central government, saying that the demonetisation drive had not decreased but only increased corruption. He further said that the move had attacked the financial independence of the country while causing great inconvenience to the farmers and the poor. He added saying that the note ban had failed to keep a check on terrorism.
