J&K BJP MLA accuses NC,Congress for insulting National Anthem, ruckus in State Assembly

National Conference and Congress accused by a BJP MLA for insulting National Anthem.

Jammu and Kashmir BJP MLA, Ravinder Raina accused National Conference and Congress party of insulting National Anthem in the J&K state Assembly on 2nd January. He has alleged that the opposition parties were creating disturbances while the national anthem was being played.

BJP legislator accused opposition party of creating ruckus in J&K assembly while the National Anthem was being played, hence insulting the National Anthem, also alleging the Governor of walking away while the National Anthem was playing. He also demanded an apology from the opposition party.

In a Budget Session in J&K Assembly, legislators of both Opposition parties were seen creating commotion and shouting anti- establishment slogan in the assembly. The protestors in the assembly were seen protesting against the killings of innocent civilians post-Burhan Wani death.
Er Rashid, AIP chairman, and independent legislator also protested outside the legislative assembly demanding plebiscite of Kashmir.

This is not the first time when the political party was seen “disrespecting” the National Anthem. Earlier, at a sporting event in Howrah City of West Bengal, Trinamool Congress MLA Vaishali Dalmiya was caught attending her phone while the national anthem was being played. Though, no action was taken against her. In another incident, BJP MDMC Mayor Ravinder Singh was seen in a video, where he misspelled the lyrics of the National Anthem.
A Malayalam writer and theater activist was also charged with sedition after he allegedly mocked the National Anthem in a Facebook Post.
