Days after possibilities of Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu joining the Congress party emerged, it is now being believed that Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh may join Congress.
According to several media reports, Harbhajan Singh has been in touch and has been in talks with Congress party leaders about joining the party. Navjot singh Sidhu’s wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu who quit the Bharatiya Janata Party last month joined the Congress on 28 November along with former Shiromani Akali Dal MLA Pargat Singh. Speculations are rife that Navjot Singh Sidhu who floated his political forum, “Awaaz-e-Punjab” more than 2 months ago, will also be joing the Congress.
Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh who had announced the decision had asserted that with like-minded people joining the party, Congress will be further strengthened ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections.
