Arjun Rampal and Jackie Shroff all set to join BJP?

Arjun stated that he has just made him available for party's help in the upcoming elections.

Actors Arjun Rampal and Jackie Shroff are all set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, according to the media reports published on January 10.

Both the actors have reached the BJP headquarters in Delhi to meet senior leader Kailash Vijayvargiya for an induction programme.

Meanwhile, talking to media personnel, Arjun stated that he has just made him available for party’s help in the upcoming elections. He said,”Neither I am a politician, nor I am here to do any politics. I am here just to extend my help to the party and see how they could utilise it.”

Both the actors are expected to campaign in UP for a party which has not yet revealed its chief minister candidate. On the other hand, Congress already had declared ex-Delhi CM Sheila Dixit as their candidate while on January 9, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh announced that if they win election, Akhilesh Yadav will continue with his post for the next tenure as well.

Earlier in December 25, 2016, the duo of music composers Sajid-Wajid also had joined BJP. Both the composers officially joined the party at an event organised by the BJP youth wing to celebrate former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday.

Prior to Sajid-Wajid, veteran actress Himani Shivpuri too joined the saffron party. She hails from Uttarakhand which will witness Assembly polls on February 15.

On January 4, the Election Commission of India had announced the dates for the upcoming state assembly polls in five states for a total of 690 Assembly seats. Goa will have a one-phase election, Manipur will have two phases and the largest state Uttar Pradesh Assembly will host elections in seven phases.
