'Aashiqui' actor Rahul Roy joins BJP, Twitter isn't exactly impressed

Rahul Roy's inclusion in Bharatiya Janata Party was met with hilarious responses on Twitter

Actor Rahul Roy, who shot to fame with Bollywood caper Aashiqui, on Saturday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in presence of Union Minister Vijay Goel at party headquarters in New Delhi.

The former Big Boss winner, who stayed away from limelight for quite a while, said it was a significant day for him and heaped praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.

“The way Narendra Modi ji and Amit Shah ji have been taking the country forward and the way the perspective of the world towards India has changed in the past two years is remarkable. I am elated to have taken this decision,” Mr Roy told mediapersons.

Expressing his desire to work for the development of the country, the actor said he is ready to take up any task entrusted to him by the party.

Roy made his film debut with Aashiqui_in 1990 which went on to become a blockbuster. However, after the initial success, most of his films bombed at the box office. The actor also won the first season of TV reality show Bigg Boss.
