To nab the accused of Jewar Gang rape that took place on May 25, the police of three states were involved and several other teams were also roped in. The team of police officers dressed in plain clothes used to wait for the culprits for hours on highways. But now it seems that there was no need for it. Reason: the accused were already in the jail at the time when police was carrying out the manhunt.
Four of the gangsters that were involved in the gang-rape and murder of man in Jewar, were earlier arrested by the station officer of Sector 58 police station when they receive the information that some gangsters are planning to commit dacoity in nearby places on June 13. After they were nabbed all four of them were sent to Luksar Jail in Greater Noida.
Noida police on July 23 arrested nabbed Ashok alias Raju, Rakesh and Deepak (all of whom were arrested by Sector 58 police on June 13 and were later released on bail on June 28), and their accomplice, Jai Singh, after a shootout.
On June 28, all of them were released and remain absconded till they were again arrested by the police on Sunday with one another person for their involvement in the jewar rape case.
As per a report in the Indiatimes, SSP, Gautam Budh Nagar,Love Kumar, said the local police had arrested the accused earlier and sent them to jail. “The Sector 58 police may not have questioned the accused properly. They were arrested after an encounter with police,” said, Gauatm Budh Nagar.

Meanwhile, Director general of UP police, Sulkhan Singh, has announced a reward Rs 50,000 reward for the team that nabbed all the four gangsters.
