Panneerselvam wants Sasikala to vacate Poes Garden residence to build a memorial dedicated to Jayalalithaa

Panneerselvam has now demanded Jayalalithaa's home to be turned into a memorial. Sasikala Natarajan currently lives there.

Tamil Nadu’s political turmoil refuses to die down as O Panneerselvam on February 9 demanded that former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s plush Poes Garden home to be turned into a memorial. Sasikala Natarajan who has been currently there had been residing in the bungalow along with late Jayalalithaa for the longest period of time.

If reports are to be believed he has also issued an executive order to put for the same and expressed desire to turn the Poes Garden residence to “Amma memorial”.

Tamil Nadu politics is in a chaotic state with O Panneerselvam resigning and making way for Jayalalithaa’s long time aide Sasikala. A tug of war is going on between OPS and Sasikala to claim the throne of Tamil Nadu.  Amidst the ongoing uproar, Sasikala Natarajan along with her supporting MLAs have requested to meet the President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi.

Reports suggest that the hotel where at least 131 AIADMK MLAs have been kept have cancelled bookings for others for security reasons. VK Sasikala and AIADMK MLAs are reportedly going to meet Tamil Nadu Governor at 5 PM.

In the recent in the ongoing crisis in the state of Tamil Nadu, Sasikala Natarajan on February 9 claimed that the Tamil Nadu governor had purposely delayed her swearing in ceremony by leaving the city soon after the announcement was made. Tamil Nadu Governor, C Vidyasagar Rao left for Mumbai just a day after AIADMK announced that Sasikala Natarajan was elected as the Legislative head of the AIADMK and would replace O Panneerselvam and be the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Additionally, Sasikala has claimed that she has the support of at least 120 MLAs who had also attended the strategy meeting of the AIADMK held after O Panneerselvam revolted openly against the closest aide of Sasikala saying that she forced him to resign.

130 MLAs backing Sasikala Natarajan have been sent to an undisclosed location. It has been reported that the AIADMK MLAs have been kept in a hotel in a bid to keep the flock together. Meanwhile, Panneerselvam has reportedly written to the bank, saying that he was the Treasurer of AIADMK and directed them to not allow any transactions in party account without his consent.
