The frienship has taken such a strong turn that Israel’s elite sniffer and attack dogs have been deployed to beef up the security cover of the Indian prime minister, reported The Telegraph. Over the past year, India has taken delivery of 30 security dogs to add teeth to PM Modi’s security. “Because of a heightened threat perception, we wanted to beef up the Prime Minister’s security.” a security official, not named in the report, said. “They are part of the Israeli defense forces’ ace canine unit,” he added.

The dogs – belonging to the breed of Labradors, German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois dogs and a fourth “rare breed” – are also very effective in combat. The official, however, did not reveal the cost to maintain the dogs, however, the local Israeli media says that each canine costs tens of thousands of dollars to train.
