At least nine people were injured in an explosion in the Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train near Jabdi station in Madhya Pradesh. The blast happened on Tuesday morning in the first compartment of the passenger train when the train was about to reach Jabdi station.
“More than 9 people injured. There was a gunpowder odour,” MP Home Minister Bhupendra Singh told ANI. Singh also said that probe has been launched to ascertain the causes of the blast.
The blast occurred in a general coach of the train between 9.30 AM and 10 AM when it was on its way to Ujjain from Bhopal, Railway PRO, Indore, Jitendra Kumar Jayant told PTI.

The victims were rushed to a hospital in Kalapipal town of the district, he said. The glass panes of the windows in the general coach were damaged because of the blast, which occurred when the train was about to reach Jabdi Station.
Three compartments of the trains reportedly derailed after the blast. The reason behind the explosion could not be ascertained.
