Kader Khan, the main accused in the 2012 Park Street gangrape case was arrested by a special team of Kolkata Police from Greater Noida on Friday, PTI reported.
Three other convicts in the case were sentenced to ten years of imprisonment by a sessions court in Kolkata in December last year.
Suzette Jordan, a mother of two, was picked up from in front of a nigh club in Park Street of Kolkata on February 5, 2012, and gangraped inside a moving car.
In a country where rape victims are also blamed for the ordeal they suffer, Jordan fought the stereotypes and became the symbol of movement against the crime. She organised rallies, took part in panel discussions on television shows and also took up the responsibility of counselling the survivors of sexual assault.
She died of encephalitis in 2015.
