JNU activists burn Modi's effigy on Dussehra to celebrate 'victory of truth'

Why did they include these faces? Here is an explanation

Effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rashriya Swayamsewa Sangh was burnt by JNU NSUI activists on the occasion of Vijaydashmi on Tuesday, claiming that they are celebrating the victory of truth. “In JNU, we celebrate the existence of truth and challenge all false truths which are created and propagated by evil to rule us,” JNU student Sunny Dhiman said while posting his video on Youtube and his Facebook page.

Along with the Prime Minister and the RSS, the effigy includes faces of Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah, party leader Sadhvi Prachi, yoga practitioner Ramdev and others.

But why did they include these faces? Here is an explanation by the JNU student himself on why he included some of these leaders to burn their effigy.

Sadhvi Prachi: “Hailing from Muzzafarnagar, she has a saintly name but whenever she opens her mouth, she advocates giving birth to 10 children (though she doesn’t have even one of her own). She also asks people to kills Muslims.”

Mohan Bhagwat: “Every year on Vijaydashmi, RSS does a ‘shakti pradarshan’ in Nagpur. But despite all attempts by the RSS, it is not able to lessen the crowd that gathers to celebrate the day when Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar converted to Buddhism, which was also on Vijaydashmi.

He attacked the JNU administration and Vice Chancellor for not allowing freedom of expression to students and for issuing unwarranted show cause notices to them.

“Recently, JNU administration has given show cause notice to a student organisation, on burning effigy of Gujarat government and gau rakshaks. Another student was given notice for writing Jai Bhim on JNU admin wall. The present Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi who many times has said that he is an Ambedkar bhakt, he subtly promotes the killing of Dalits, Adivasis and Muslims with asli and nakli Gaurakshak or desh rakshak,” Sunny said.

He also charged the JNU campus for being under control of the RSS. “Our JNU campus is under serious threat, the slaves of RSS has taken charge of University Administration. We NSUI are going to celebrate the victory of Truth,” he added.

He accused RSS people of being “stooges of British Crown”.
