Raising doubts over the reliability of the EVMs, Congress had urged Arvind Kejriwal to hold election through ballot papers

Amid the uproar over, the reliability of the Electronic voting machine (EVM), Congress has come forward to advise Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to conduct the upcoming Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections using ballot papers instead of the EVMs. Post the Assembly election results, a number of political leader have come forth to claims that the EVM machines are tampered with and have also demanded a probe.

Congress leader Ajay Maken who’s an MP from a constituency in Delhi have urged Kejriwal to conduct MCD polls that set to be held in the month of April through ballot papers considering the serious allegations against the EVMs.

Even though Arvind Kejriwal did not respond to Ajay Maken he did retweet Prashant Bhushan’s tweet that took at a dig at EVMs.

This came after Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati cried foul after BJP won Uttar Pradesh election with a massive mandate. Mayawati claimed that BJP tampered with the EVMS to win the UP elections. She said that the EVMs did not accept any vote other than BJP. She asserted that elections should be held again through ballot voting.

Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal who had recently campaigned for the MCD polls had promised to turn Delhi into London in a years time. Looking extremely confident about winning the MCD polls, Kejriwal affirmed that the residents of the national capital brought the Aam Aadmi Party into power by giving them a historic 67 out of 70 seats. He added that AAP will win all 272 wards.
