Hours after sacked Aam Admi Party leader Kapil Mishra sat on a hunger strike in New Delhi, he was attacked outside his house on Wednesday evening. He was allegedly attacked by a person identified as Ankit Bhardwaj who slapped him repeatedly. The attacker was wearing a green t-shirt and stated that he came on his own to attack Mishra as he betrayed the party and nobody sent him.
The accused was taken into police custody after the incident. Mishra who blamed the AAP for the attack refused the need for security. He said that if his supporters will strike back then he will give up water also. Earlier in the day, Kapil Mishra sat on a hunger strike to seek the details of foreign trips made by top leaders of AAP.
He said, “Sitting on a ‘Satyagraha’ till I get a clarification on details of international travel expenses of some senior AAP leaders.” He also alleged that he has been getting threat calls but is not afraid of speaking against the party leaders. “I have been getting life threats, got a threat also from an international number. But I am not afraid of anything,” said Mishra.

On May 9, Kapil Mishra filed three complaints with CBI against party convenor and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders Satyendar Jain, Ashish Khetan and Sanjay Singh for allegedly misusing party funds so as to go on foreign trips. Mishra was suspended from the party earlier this week after he claimed that Delhi CM accepted a bribe of Rs 2 crore from health minister Satyendar Jain.
