Eman Ahmed may soon lose the title of  world’s heaviest person as she has lost a whopping 120 kg in a period of three weeks, the 36-year-old now weighs around 380 kg. When Eman came to Mumbai for treatment, she was over 480 kg  and even unable to move her limbs.

Eman was brought from airport in a specially made truck to Saifee hospital, later she was carried in to hospital through a crane. And now for the first time in two and half decades, Eman is able to sit up on her own.

Doctors had initially set a target of 2 kg per day for first 25 days, surprisingly, she lost double the weight.

We thought she would lose around 50 kg, but were surprised to observe that she has lost more than 100 kg,” said Dr Muffazal Lakdawala, the bariatric surgeon treating Eman told Mid Day.

However, Lakdawala also said losing another 100 kg will be a challenge as medicines have mostly done their job.

Doctors also said that there is more clarity in Eman’s speech, unlike earlier she can also also swallow some food.

Hailing from Egypt’s Alexandria, Eman suffers from sleep apnea, hypothyroid, diabetes, hypertension, kidney problems, fluid retention and most importantly obesity.

Eman has been put on a high protein and fibre diet to systematically bring down her weight. Doctors have aimed to reduce Eman’s weight by 200 kg in 2017.

Eman got huge support across the country and Rs 60 lakh has been raised for her treatment.
