For past some days, many incidents of mysterious braid chopping have come to light which has created panic among people in Delhi and nearby areas. However, Delhi police have successfully solved the mystery in one of such cases. In an incident, that took place on Friday at Ambedkar Nagar, it turned out that a boy had pulled a prank on his sister.
The incident happened when the girl went to her Aunt’s place and fell asleep due to a severe headache, later when she got up her 10-year-old brother showed her chopped braid which was lying on the floor. The girl immediately informed the PCR about it. According to DCP (southeast) Romil Baaniya, the incident was reported at the Sanjay Camp area.
Later police got to know that it was a prank. Girl’s brother and her cousin decided to cut-off the braid of their sister to tease her that she is the latest victim of the mystery. The case was solved after police interrogation and family members told the police that they were aware of the prank.
When police questioned the child, the boy agreed that it was he who have cut his sister’s braid. The boy also told that he had not imagined that the police would reach their place. After this incident, police have appealed the citizens to not spread rumours and create panic.
Meanwhile, a day after UP and Delhi police have dubbed the recent incidents of women’s hair being chopped off as baseless rumours. Two new cases of braid chopping have emerged from Moradabad and another case has surfaced in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.
