In UP, Cow Vigilantes Attack 70-Year-Old Man Who Was Taking His Cow To A Vet

The mob assaulted the 70-year-old man with sticks and then threw him in the gutter.

A 70-year-old man was thrashed by cow vigilantes in Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh when he was taking his ailing cow to a veterinarian, a DNA report said.

Kailash Nath Shukla from Lakshmanpur village was taking his cow to another village to get her treated on Thursday when he was surrounded by cow vigilantes in the Nandpur village. While the mob accused Shukla of dumping his cow in the village, a few people from the crowd alleged Shukla was trying to sell his cow to a Muslim man in another village.

According to the report, the mob assaulted the old man with sticks and then threw him in the gutter. After the assault, the old man was paraded through the village as a warning to others who dared to insult cows.
