Clashes in Pulwama in J&K after Burhan Wani posters come up in govt college

The college was all set to reopen a week after protests. In order to avoid violence, the students were asked to leave the college premises

Amid of the prevailing tension among the students in Jammu and Kashmir, fresh clashes breaks out in Pulwama’s Government Degree College after the poster of deceased terrorism Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani were raised within the college premises on May 1.

An outrage broke at the Administrative Block of the college when the posters of Burhar Wani were raised by the unknown men who were protesting against security forces in the Valley.

The college was all set to reopen a week after protests. In order to avoid violence, the students were asked to leave the college premises.

There has been an unrest in Pulwama. Earlier on April 15, six students and three policemen were injured in clashes at the college premises after students raised Pakistani flags.

50 students were injured in fighting with security forces after objecting to the setting up of a security post outside the college.

The terror group commander Burhan Wani was gunned down on July 8, 2016.
