To rid passengers of hassles and introduce them to smart travelling, Chennai airport launched humanoid robots on Thursday. The robot will be at the service of visitors, performing a variety of different tasks, including welcoming passengers and answering queries with special abilities to ‘decipher accents’.

Two of these humanoid robots have already been introduced on a ‘trial’ basis. One bot has been positioned at the ‘Arrival’ and ‘Departure’ sections in the domestic terminal. “Humanoid Robots introduced on trial basis at Chennai Airport. The robot will provide info on Chennai Airport and its amenities,” the official Twitter handle of the Chennai airport said.
The robots can navigate by themselves, they can even identify and greet passengers and clear all their doubts.
However, this latest use of artificial intelligence couldn’t manage to impress Twitter even a bit.
First let AAI Chennai maintain urinals properly without leak. Then let them do all the other dramas. By the way are glass panes still falling? Why can’t Chennai Airport apply for Guinness record??

Hope this robot can predict and alert passengers on glass fallings. pic.twitter.com/MSFtfifsPK

1) it’s trial*
2) I’d rather add more immigration counters in the arrival hall instead of robots that can greet.

Please make sure the restrooms are at the bare minimum usable which is basic and more important than humanoid gimmicks

And in the future, the bot will also teach its bosses not to spend money on these mere wasteful aesthetic additions and to rather spend on such essential facilities as building and maintaining clean toilets.

We have been using “Sivagami” computer before robots were invented. What is so novel about this?
