Akshay Kumar's brilliant idea of 'Bharat ke veer' works, gets flooded with donations for Sukma martyrs' kin

Besides Akshay Kumar, Gautam Gambhir also announced that his foundation will bear full expenses to educate the children of all the CRPF martyrs.

Ever since the union government launched its website – bharatkeveer.gov.in, an initiative conceived by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, has got a lot of praise on social media. The website, which was launched on April 9, allows anyone to make direct monetary donations to the families of martyred soldiers of paramilitary forces.

According to a Hindustan Times report, the amazing website has got an overwhelming response. In a span of less than 12 hours, donations have been pouring in from across the country. Head Constable KP Singh’s dependents—his wife and mother received a contribution of Rs 31,612, followed by ASI Naresh Kumar’s family that received Rs 28,851 and ASI Sanjay Kumar’s kin got Rs 25,821.

Getting updated on a regular basis, the portal shared the details of the next of kin of recently killed 25 CRPF soldiers in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma.

Sukma massacre took place on April 24 in which 25 CRPF personnel were killed in Maoist-related violence in Chhattisgarh’s district.

At the time of launching of the website, Akshay Kumar had said, “Our brave jawans in the CRPF martyred their lives for the sake of the nation in the recent Sukma attack. It’s my heartfelt appeal to everyone that if you want to truly pay your tribute to our fallen braves, then visit the Indian government’s website bharatkeveer.gov.in and make your contribution to show their families that India stands with them in solidarity in this moment of grief.”

Besides Akshay Kumar, Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir also announced that his foundation will bear full expenses to educate the children of all the CRPF martyrs.
