After revolt, Sasikala shows strength of 131 MLAs, says people want her to be CM

At the meeting held at the AIADMK headquarters, Sasikala told MLA's, Nothing can break party's unity and no force can break it

In the latest development in Tamil Nadu politics involving the Chief Minsterial post, AIADMK general secretary Sasikala Natarajan refuted all the charges levelled against her by the acting CM O. Paneerselvam. At the meeting held at the AIADMK headquarters, Sasikala told MLA’s, Nothing can break party’s unity and no force can break AIADMK. In the meeting, she also claimed that she has numbers to become the CM of the state and said that the party will work in path shown by Amma.

Soon after facing the revolt from sitting Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, AIADMK General Secretary V K Sasikala on February 7 claimed that all the party MLAs were with her and hence there is “no problem” in her becoming the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.

She further alleged that the main opposition DMK was behind O Panneerselvam’s revolt.

“All the MLAs are there like a single family, so there is no problem,” she told reporters at a crowded press meet.

During her address, she also targeted DMK and said: “DMK is behind Panneerselvam…the reason is that in the recent Assembly session the Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition were looking at each other and laughing together.”

Miffed with revolt, Sasikala, who took charge as party’s General Secretary last year in December following the death of Jayalalitha, sacked Panneerselvam from the post of party’s treasurer.
