Babita Phogat also jumped into the twitter debate and took swipe at Gurmehar Kaur

After Virender Sehwag and Randeep Hooda, yet another celebrity has targetted Kargil martyr’s daughter Gurmerhar Kaur for speaking against ABVP, the youth wing of Bharatiya Janata Party.

Wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt posted Tweet on Tuesday that has Kaur’s controversial placard holding image that said “Pakistan did not kill my dad, war killed him” and he goes on to compare them with with pictures of Adolf Hitler, Osama Bin Laden and a black buck. Each picture has subsequent text surrounding it which reads, “Did not kill Jews, Gas did” (Hitler); “Did not kill people, Bombs did” (Bin Laden) and “Bhai (Salman Khan) did not kill me, bullets did” (black buck).

Earlier, former batsman Virender Sehwag had the Twitter divided after he posted an image with him holding a placard that read, “I didn’t score two triple centuries, my bat did”, along with the message, “Bat me hai Dum ! #BharatJaisiJagahNahi”.

Actor Randeep Hooda endorsed Sehwag’s Tweet with claps drawing praise and flak from Twitteratis.

Wrestler Babita Phogat also jumped into the twitter debate Monday throwing her weight behind Hooda when journalist Rana Ayub slammed the Sarabjeet actor referring to poor sex ration in Haryana. The Haryana wrestler than took a swipe at Gurmehar Kaur saying, “One who cannot speak good for the country , Will it be right to speak for her”(Jo aapne desh ke haq m bat nhi kar sakti uske haq m bat karna thik h kya???)

Referring to ABVP’s involvement in violence at Ramjas college over invitation to Umar Khaled for an event, Kaur changed her Facebook profile picture holding a placard which reads, “I am a student from Delhi University. I am not afraid of ABVP. I am not alone. Every student of India is with me. #StudentsAgainstABVP”.

The campaign went viral on social media with many supporting Kaur while others slammed her for taking the stand against BJP’s youth wing. Kaur on Monday filed a complaint at Delhi commission of Woman for receiving rape threats.

Randeep Hooda later took to Facebook to justify his stance. He wrote in the post, “Viru cracked a joke and I admit I laughed. Damn!! He is so witty and this is one of the other million things he’s said that has made me crack up. That was it!!” He also said that he and Sehwag are not the reasons why Gurmehar is getting threats.

Gurmehar responded to being trolled by former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag and Randeep Hooda. She wrote, “I am heartbroken, these are the people you yell for in matches and they troll you at the expense of your father’s death_ I have my own mind, nobody is polluting my mind. I am not anti-national.”
