Watch: Netflix sneaks in premiere date for Marvel's Defenders in puzzling new teaser

Netflix has already dropped the first teaser trailer for Marvel's Defenders and it looks rather mysterious, to be honest.

With the arrival of Iron Fist on Netflix in March, fans’ anticipation for Marvel’s Defenders had heightened. The ‘fantastic four’, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist all have their standalone series in place now and thus, it is time for them to come together for the much-awaited series. Never mind that Jessica Jones is the only series out of the four that actually has a plotline.  Netflix has already dropped the first teaser trailer but it looks rather mysterious, to be honest. It is only when we gave it a closer look could we solve the riddle.

In the teaser, we see the four defenders assembled in an elevator. Nothing fishy. Just a regular elevator going down with four not-so-regular people in it. A few seconds later, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) looks right into the CCTV camera and leaps towards it which is when the footage breaks. What’s curious is the time stamp in the top-right corner stops exactly at 08:18:20:17, hinting that the show will premiere on August 18, 2017.

Not convinced? Well, get this. In the top-left corner, an IP address has been listed. If you enter the address in your browser search bar, you will be redirected to a New York Bulletin web page which reads “Watch “Marvel’s The Defenders” All Episodes Streaming Only on Netflix August 18.

(L-R) Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones and Finn Jones as Iron Fist

She would have to be an extremely formidable opponent if it takes all of Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) to take her down. Hopefully, the series is not another string of disappointing episodes. Not that we are taking any names but the “child touched by fire” was kind of unfortunate.
